Support the Marine who's getting railroaded by the media

Support the marine who's getting railroaded by the media.

Sign the petition, here.

U.S.Marines were fired upon by snipers and insurgents armed with rocket-propelled grenades from a mosque and an adjacent building. The Marines returned fire with tank shells and machine guns.

They eventually stormed the mosque, killing 10 insurgents and wounding five others, and showing a cache of rifles and grenades for journalists.

The Marines told the pool reporter that the wounded insurgents would be left behind for others to pick up and move to the rear for treatment. But Saturday, another squad of Marines found that the mosque had been reoccupied by insurgents and attacked it again.

Four of the insurgents appeared to have been shot again in Saturday's fighting, and one of them appeared to be dead, according to the pool report. In the video, a Marine was seen noticing that one of the insurgents appeared to be breathing.

A Marine approached one of the men in the mosque saying, "He's [expletive] faking he's dead. He's faking he's [expletive] dead."

The Marine raised his rifle and fired into the insurgents head, at which point a companion said, "Well, he's dead now."

The camera then shows two Americans pointing weapons at another Iraqi insurgent lying motionless. But one of the Marines step back as the insurgent stretches out his hand, motioning that he is alive. The other Marine stands his ground, but neither of them fires.

When told by the pool reporter that the men were among those wounded in Friday's firefight, the Marine who fired the shot said, "I didn't know, sir. I didn't know."

"You can hear the tension in those Marines' voices. One is saying, 'He's faking it. He's faking it,'" Heyman said. "In a combat infantry soldier's training, he is always taught that his enemy is at his most dangerous when he is severely wounded."

A Marine in the same unit had been killed just a day earlier when he tended to the booby-trapped dead body of an insurgent.

NBC reported that the Marine seen shooting the Iraqi insurgent had himself been shot in the face the day before, but quickly returned to duty.

About a block away, a Marine was killed and five others wounded by a booby-trapped body they found in a house after a shootout with insurgents.

Amnesty International has noted reports that insurgents have used mosques as fighting positions, and have used white flags to lure Marines into ambushes.

The Marine who shot the insurgent has been withdrawn from the battlefield pending the results of an investigation, the U.S. military said.

These terrorists do not follow the rules of war. These terrorists kill innocent women by disemboweling them, cut of the heads of innocent truck drivers, detonate car bombs in crowds full of innocent people, and fly planes into buildings filled with innocent Americans.

It is my opinion that NOTHING should happen to this American Marine. He should be returned to his unit or be given an honorable discharge. We don't need our young men and women taking an extra second to decide if its right to shoot an enemy terrorist when that could mean that one of our soldiers could lose their life. The lives of our soldiers should be the single most important factor in this war against terrorism. The rights of terrorists can come second.

The hottest cultural issue this election was pre-ordained when the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts made public this decision last November, “We declare that barring an individual from the protections, benefits and obligations of civil marriage solely because that person would marry a person of the same sex violates the Massachusetts constitution."

On Wednesday November 3rd it was clear that issue brought home the Evangelical Christian conservatives and they turned out heavy to vote. 11 states had anti-gay marriage initiatives on the ballot, and every one passed. Of those 11 states, President George W. Bush carried nine. In Georgia, Kentucky and Oklahoma the GOP captured two open and one very competitive Senate seats, in part because of the heavy turn out of the Evangelical base.

So get a clue, donks:  If you have no history of Bible study, if you have never been to church, you'll never have a clue as to where where we're coming from.

So go take another hit off that bong and eat a twinkie with Mikey.

The liberal heart still bleats
11.06.04 (4:25 pm)   [edit]

They're still at it, trying to give us war advice, but the agonizing angst filled moans from left wing columnists brings me profound delight. The liberal columnists dropped their transparent pretense of intelligence, balance, and reason and went whole hog for paranoid lunacy. I'd Fisk them but there are too many to slam, so I'll just poke at them instead.

We're supposed to take strategic advice from a group that tried and failed to pick-up 0.001% more votes than Gore. Endless blather about Al-qaqaa and quagmires, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, and Hitler; unbelievable press bias; forged documents, and moving the goal posts from the end zone to the parking lot; and still all they managed was to turn certain victory into ignominious, stark defeat. Frankly, I've met more successful eggplants in the produce department.

They staged the largest protests in the history of the entire fucking world and all they manage is to take home a lousy T-shirt. They thought marching in clown suits and skeleton masks, throwing bottles at police before shitting on the sidewalk under signs emblazoned with "Hitler" would do the trick, but the rest of America sat back, popped open a beer, stared in disbelief at the TV, and said "Jesus those people are fucking stupid."

No wonder they were crushed, stomped on, humiliated, and downright shamed by someone they regard as a retard. I know their symbol is a donkey but did they have to become a party by and for the absolute jackass? They call the president a smirking chimp but at least we ran a primate, a chordate even, which is all it took considering the slimy spineless two-faced nothing of a man they fronted as their best hope for victory.

Running against the most radical, unpopular, and derided national leader in the history of the world, frankly one more despised by Europeans than Hitler, and somehow the Dems find a man who actually came off as less popular. How do you even fucking do that??? The bleating idiots somehow managed it! I mean, it's a feat of mind boggling improbability, like a toddler so devastatingly clumsy that he not only topples all the cans in an entire Sam's Club, but somehow takes down the entire Walmart distribution network. My mind reels trying to simply conceive it. How do you wrap your brain around it? How do you find a historical reference? Are their parallels? At least parallels outside the special ed class that decided pencil lead was high in fiber?

But the big city liberal morons and pamper pundits learned nothing, learning being a skill beyond the capacity of morons, which is of course why they're called morons. Now they're all babbling that they just don't connect to people who value values. Given that values encompass things like courage, honor, and integrity we're not surprised in the least. You don't turn 35 and try to develop character between commercial breaks like some metrosexual fad. You either have them or you don't. The value voters rejected Kerry like he was a dog swarming with lice infested fire ants, and the list of reasons has enough meat to play New York phone book to his "better plan" phonebook cover. Everybody seemed to notice that his plans lacked the detail of having those things called "details". Liberals actually thought they could sell an unseen plan pumped by a man with still unseen military records and unseen tax returns and people wouldn't notice.

He was examined and found empty, as were the inchoate complaints of the Democrats. Here's a word to future wannabe losers: When you express your inner panderweasel it helps to show yourself taking an actual position instead of a nuanced position cloud of adverby adjectives trying to juxtapose their way toward justness. That, and don't be an ass sucking ultra-rich, aristocratic, narcissistic, disconnected, treasonous Congmonkey whose vacuous speeches meander worse than the Mekong and make even committed supporters contemplate suicide.

Voters strongly suspected that Kerry would run from Iraq with his tail between his legs, but Kerry supporters claimed he was a "proud warrior" who would hold the course. After Edwards' non-concession speech vowing to count every vote and fight on, Kerry waited what, a couple hours before saying "fuck it, let's go home"? If the man is resolute it's only in his determination to surrender before his quiche gets cold. Who was right about him? Obviously we were, and it warms my heart that the majority of Americans didn’t fall for the Democrat's sleight of hand, their naked candidate, and their incoherent positions.

The liberals remain so disconnected that even now they're trying to figure out how to connect to stupid voters. Exit poll data shows that Kerry already carried the high-school drop outs but lost among high-school and college graduates. The Democrats already have the "stupid vote" locked up. They already bus their base of stupid people from the home to the polls, and there's no more blood to squeeze out of that turnip. You think they'd have figured this out, or even paused to wonder why their hopes depended on getting out the youth vote (i.e. those too inexperienced to know what's going on yet), but no. The feckless Hollywood activists and Europhile latte lappers even now are triangulating to target even stupider people, no doubt giving up another 5% of the electorate to chase a 1% who couldn't dimple a chad without a government training program.

If they keep this up 2006 will be a sweep, and in 2008 they'll run Hillary, who not only has higher negatives than Kerry, but by the way didn't serve in Vietnam or the National Guard. You normally wouldn't think that would be an issue, and amazingly it won't, because despite all the screaming about Bush not being a true war hero the Democrats actually didn't give a flying fig, their protests as disingenuous as they were disingenius. Shortly before they refound a love of combat veterans, even of self-confessed war criminals, they'd been backing Dean, a man who faked a back injury to spend the war skiing in Colorado. We didn't buy their "war hero" pap for a second, and you can bet they'll return to their usual disdain and dislike for anyone who's worn the uniform of the United States military.

They'll run someone even less popular than the man who's just proven more unpopular than Bush, and we'll run someone who isn't Bush. Heck, we could run Jeb just to drive them further over the edge. They'll have a message refined for an even dumber target audience, perfectly tuned for coma wards and mental hospitals, and we'll once again watch them in defeat, trying to explain why they just didn't connect with people, people who laugh at the stupidity of their message, the hollowness of their beliefs, their reflexive anti-Americanism, and the error of their tax and spend socialist ways.

Keep being yourselves, donks, you're already paving the way for our '08 Victory.

11.06.04 (6:42 am)   [edit]

Michael Moore.com has a post on 17 reasons not to slit your wrists.

Hell, I can think of more reasons than that TO slit your wrists....but then you idiots are full of false promises, like moving to Ireland, for example.  Right, Robert?

This is an aspect of me that I can't separate even though I know I should be stronger than that.

That rat sonofabitch used the pictures of my friends, sons of my friends, friends of my sons,...friends who would never have imagined to be used in such a way.  Friends who knew what honor and integrity and commitment meant.  Friends who sacrificed their lives so that millions could be free.

What has Moore done?  What has Moore accomplished with his life?

He's made millions of dollars.  He's won awards.  But it doesn't seem like he's done much else, does it?  Did he donate or has he supported the wounded at Walter Reed and elsewhere?  Did he affect the outcome of the election?

Moore is a fat, disgusting, tired, bitter, shrill, shell of man who is well on his way to irrelevancy. The media has reported that people voted against him.  He doesn't have a legacy.  Think about that.

My friends, the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice will have legacies of freedom...no matter what that rat sonofabitch wants.

Thanks, Kerry, you shit
11.06.04 (2:23 am)   [edit]

This just in, from a boy in Iraq:

Well, my buddy is still under serious observation. The swelling is too bad to accurately assess damage, but he can see apparently. They can't move him until they are sure. He also apparently has a broken jaw, which would explain his pain in talking. I didn't treat it, but it wasn't terribly life threatening at the time...

Also, he had a bruise on his chest. I didn't notice it at the time, but apparently a large chunk of metal from the VBED nailed him in the chest as well. But thank God I didn't have to treat a sucking chest wound. He like all of us out here has the trauma plate to our IBAs.

What happened to him puts into perspective something I've been seeing all along. That fucking vest we wear has proved it's fucking worth. The damn thing adds like 10 degrees to every hot day, the plates limit your range of motion and add like 20 fucking pounds to your regular load. Those things are horrid, and they are killing my back, giving me pains I never had before. All sorts of soreness in our lower backs. If you watch the movie Black Hawk Down, you see a Ranger pull the plate out of his back saying he didn't want the extra weight. All I can say is that I am keeping mine in.

Those trauma plates are a big piece of ceramic, stiff and heavy, but comparatively light weight. A piece of steel with similar protective value would simply be too much to carry. It is contoured to curve around your body on either side. Shrapnel hitting it will generally either imbed into the plate, or more likely deflect off. The plates are expensive, and can crack if mistreated. Each one has a serial number, and costs hundreds of dollars. They are worth every fucking penny.

A sergeant in my unit was hit months back, in the elbow. Shrapnel absolutely destroyed his joint, but made a clean entrance and exit through his elbow. I only found out recently that the piece that did it actually deflected from his chest, off his trauma plate.

Same deal with the kid here. He could have had a sucking chest wound, where I would have to try and help him while he slowly drowns on blood from the inside. All those horrible scenes in movies where a guy vomits blood in movies...yeah, that’s a sucking chest wound. I know how to treat it in theory. Of course in theory I know how a nuclear reactor works, doesn't mean I should build one. He could have been killed outright. Then what would I have done? Get a body bag?

The only parts hurt on this kid were parts not covered by his IBA. That shit works, I'd buy stock in it. I will gladly continue to wear my plates and stop complaining.

This shit has me so freaked out. I'm not scared for me; I'm scared of what could have happened. I am so glad this kid had his plates. Long before any of us got there, those things saved his ass. They save lives all over Iraq.

Thanks again Kerry, you shit, for voting against them.

Vietnam Vets: 58,000 Votes Kerry Thought Wouldn't Count
11.05.04 (1:05 am)   [edit]

On November 2, 2004

"We" will be vindicated forevermore

Coming together, all sisters and brothers

Those who survived, as well as the 'others'.

We suffered in silence for 30+ years

Scorned and ridiculed, we shed a few tears.

Jane Fonda, John Kerry, what do you hear?

The millions of vets singing out - loud and clear!

When all of the votes were finally tallied

Some asked perplexed why Kerry never rallied

Pundits and pollsters will be confused

While we Vietnam Vets will simply be amused.

For we will know the reason, you see?

It is no mystery for you and me.

All the other hurdles Kerry was able to surmount

It was the 58,000 votes he thought would not count.

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW

Dear American Left
11.05.04 (12:04 am)   [edit]

Dear American Left,

I know why Bush won. I know why you lost. No, not just lost – rejected. I know exactly why, and we’ll get to that in a minute. First, though, just let me say this … If you think that spewing hate and invective on me now is going to make your life improve in any way whatsoever, you are a bigger group of fools than anyone imagined. If you think calling me more names is going to get you what you want in this country, you are not just acting foolish, you are delusional and maybe your hatred is more than just a little self-oriented. The reason I say “I” here instead of “we” or “The GOP” is because, I want you to understand something so basic; so fundamental; that I am ashamed for you that I have to spell it out.

I am the Republican Party
My numbers are growing, and my age is a major factor. You see; the old guard of the Republican party is quite literally dying, and we, the younger members, are moving up. It won’t be long before we are a majority influence and can turn the party back toward preserving the ideals of smaller government, less interference in both business and private life. I believe it is possible to embrace both traditional and progressive values. I do it every day. I believe that it’s possible to hold our military up as the primary reason the federal government exists and I will work within my party to make that happen.

I am the Republican Party
Or more appropriately, I am the past; present; and future of the Republican Party. If you think keeping me on your side is worth anything, you might want to re-think the idea of calling me a bigot; a Nazi; or spewing hatred at me. Your ideals were soundly rejected, and if you stopped whining long enough to ask, some of us can tell you why. Part of why you don’t know is the fact that, you haven’t stopped whining in the last four years. The steady stream of hate, lies and vitriol from the American left has hardened the American right in ways you can’t begin to imagine. You tempered us. You forged us in the fire of your hate, and you made us stronger than we every could have been without your steady litany of bile and complaint.

Make no mistake, people, two things lost you this election. First; it was your incessant need to spew vile invective at anyone who did not think like you, and secondly; like Nader in 2000, you have one man to thank, and his name is Michael Moore.

As proof of the lack of class, take a look at his site today. As of this writing, that filthy excuse for a human being has replaced all his crowing and self-righteousness with a photo of Bush made up, of the first 1000 soldiers that died in Iraq and Afghanistan. I see that he doesn’t care, and to be honest, I bet you don’t either. And that’s another reason why you lost. You ignored the voices of those who would die to protect you.

Let me say that again in a different way. There are a few million men and women who have volunteered to give their very lives to protect you. Can you even grasp the enormity of that concept? After 9/11, knowing there was going to be a military response, hundreds of thousands of people volunteered to join the military to defend you … to protect you … to take whatever action they could to try to prevent your death in another terrorist attack! They are willing to die for you, and you ignored them. You treated them like mindless pawns. You used them and then tried to elect a man that has betrayed them time and time again.

Do you have any idea how that must feel?
Regardless of your position on Iraq, whether it was warranted or not, they have a position, and that position is overwhelmingly in support of Bush, the idea of the war, the execution of the war and the goal to stay until the work is finished. And you ignored them. Worse, you ridiculed them. You called them “kids” and “children". You painted them as bloodthirsty savages hell-bent on murder and sadism when you heard that a small number of individuals did some pretty nasty things to some prisoners. They never forgot that, you know.

And that brings it back to the hate and bile that poured forth from the left. The hate and bile that is still pouring out today, perhaps at an even greater rate.

I spent the election night reading websites, tracking data, reading blogs, talking about it, watching TV, etc. The next morning, while I was still awake after the long run, I was both smug with the win and giddy with relief that we avoided electing a man I have come to despise, and I threw it right in the face of some people on another website.

To that person … if you’re reading this, I apologize for my tone. Not my content. You still have many lessons you need to learn, and if you want to move out of the country because of this - more power to you … want me to help pack your damn suitcase? I don’t believe you will.

Something that person (and the rest of you to whom this letter is addressed) is going to have to learn is that, telling me I’m stupid; a racist; a bigot; or whatever else you may come up with is going to result in exactly one thing … further marginalizing you as a political power in America. What you need is me – as your ally. Your inside man. Someone who will fight you on a lot of issues, but will also fight for you on others. Why?

See? I am the Republican Party…
And right now, we control the game. If you want to play, you need to re-think this idea that throwing tantrums will get you on the field.

Talk to me. Treat me with respect. And you just might find yourself with the most powerful ally you can imagine … someone who shares a vision of a more free – more perfect America.

Lastly – here’s the perfect, shining example of why you lost…..

His name is Michael Moore. Before Moore burst forth with his theories of 9/11 conspiracies; “seven minutes"; blood for oil; Taliban pipelines; etc., very little actual criticism was levied at Bush beyond the misguided notion that something errant happened in Florida. If Moore did not exist, I believe that cooler heads would have realized that a never-ending flow of recounts all proved one thing … Bush won – Period.

And we would have moved forward. 9/11 would still have happened and we might have had a chance at keeping some of that unity we all felt … but along came Moore, and in tow came the most extreme elements of the American left. Bolstered by the Hollywood liberal, the MoveOn/Democratic Underground lunatic, the darkest fringes of radical American liberalism were given credence simply by being a market share. Fine – free markets are great. Moore has a message; you provided an audience; money was exchanged.

But then you started taking those messages into the political arena as though they had validity. And most of America looked at you like you just grew a third eye right in front of them. And still you persisted, getting more and more hateful, telling more lies, spinning out-of-context elements and juxtaposing any and every situation in order to try to hammer home your talking points. No matter what the discussion, you brought it back to one of Moore’s talking points. If the topic did not fit your need, you forced it, or just ignored it altogether and ranted away.

You never stopped for a minute to consider the fact that you might be wrong. And yet that very behavior is one of the greatest criticisms of Bush by the new radical left. Ironic, I think.

You took this new radicalism so far that your candidate for President, a man who is guided by polls, took a look around and said – “Oh, I get it. There is energy around this new radical hate of the President. I will base my message not only around my questionable service, but around this new radical hatred, even if most of it is baseless or contradicts what I said just six or twelve months ago.”

The American people saw through it; and delivered a response where it counted: at the polls.

Impeach Hanoi John

VVAW carried the flags of our enemies, see it here

Veterans Initiate Campaign to
Impeach Sen. John Kerry

Whether Elected President Or Not, Sen. John Forbes Kerry Must Be Impeached For Treason

The online U.S. Veteran Dispatch has reorganized it’s Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry (VVAJK) movement into "Impeach Hanoi John" located on the Internet at www.impeachhanoijohn.com .

Not only was VVAJK the first veteran’s organization to publically challenge and document the unprecedented aid and comfort John Forbes Kerry gave our communist enemies during the Vietnam War, but also his phoney "war hero" claims.

C'mon over to Impeach Hanoi John

A vote for Kerry....
11.01.04 (2:59 pm)   [edit]

A vote for John Kerry is a vote AGAINST the U.S. military personnel who liberated Iraq – those Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines –who are now on the frontline defending our critical national interests in the region against Jihadi terrorists. It is also a vote against those who have already provided the last measure on that front in service to our great nation.

Indeed, there is a direct correlation between Kerry’s efforts to politicize dissent against U.S. resolve in the war against terrorism – specifically on the Iraqi warfront – and American and Allied casualties on that front. Those forces, including countless Iraqis, are being injured and killed in ever-increasing numbers because of the political discord Kerry and his ilk are fomenting.

If you think there is not a connection between Kerry’s campaign rhetoric and U.S. casualties, read on….

Kerry has reduced the war to liberate Iraq to nothing more than political fodder, which has emboldened our Jihadi enemies. As noted recently by Professor Mohammad Amin Bashar at Baghdad’s Islamic University, “If the U.S. Army suffered numerous humiliating losses, Kerry would emerge as the superman of the American people.” To that end, Abu Jalal, an influential Iraqi resistance leader, said last month, “American elections and Iraq are linked tightly together. We’ve got to work to change the election, and we’ve done so. With our strikes, we’ve dragged Bush into the mud.”

The net effect of Kerry’s dissention can certainly be felt in terms of increased numbers of American and Allied casualties. A few weeks ago, John Edwards unwittingly provided the evidence for this very correlation: “We lost more troops in September than we lost in August; lost more in August than we lost in July; lost more in July than we lost in June.”

This was, and remains, the unavoidable consequence of Kerry’s reckless campaign rhetoric. The blood of those American Patriots (like the blood of his “brothers” in Vietnam, after he used that war as fodder for his 1972 congressional campaign), is on John Kerry’s hands.

To be sure, this is the harshest of all condemnations. But it is also the truth.

Now, Osama bin Laden, who planned the 9/11 attack killing 3,000 of our countrymen – men, women and children – has emerged from his rat hole, and issued a statement which is, unquestionably, timed to support John Kerry.

In that light, the most challenging question that can be asked on this, the eve of the 2004 Presidential Election, is not so much, For whom will you vote?” butWith whom will you vote?”

Will you vote with Osama bin Laden, Abu Jalal, Saddam Hussein and Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi? How about Kim Jong-Il, Mohammad Khatami, Moammar al-Ghadafi and Hu Jingtao? All of these tyrants support John Kerry.

or…

Will you vote with America’s fighting forces, who, according to a just- published Army Times poll, overwhelmingly support President George W. Bush. In fact, 82 percent of our Armed Forces said they do not want John Kerry as their Commander in Chief.

On Tuesday, SUPPORT OUR TROOPS – VOTE FOR GEORGE W. BUSH!

Michael Moore must be feeling proud of himself today.

UPDATE: Reader Jerry Cornwell points out that the Kerry camp is getting sensitive about the similarity between Osama's diatribe and their own talking points:

KERRY CAMPAIGN BLOWS UP AT FOX, THREATENS TO THROW FOX OFF THE PLANE, BACKS OFF:

KERRY CAMP OBJECTS TO 4:00pm FOX NEWS SEGMENT: ALAN COLMES: "It's not like he [Osama bin Laden] had a Kerry-Edwards bumper sticker in his cave." NEIL CAVUTO: "But he's all but doing that, isn't he? I thought I saw a button."

KERRY CAMP ASKS FOR RETRACTION, DOES NOT GET ONE… JOHN SASSO BLOWS UP AT FOX PRODUCER ON PLANE: "Is that the one? Is that her? I want her off the plane tomorrow. I'm not kidding."

COMM. DIR. STEPHANIE CUTTER BACKTRACKS: "He [Sasso] was wrong to say that. We jumped all over him for it."

Maybe it's the stress of a long, tight campaign, or maybe the Dems know they're losing and are getting desperate.  I think it's the latter.
